Peter Redman Bio

From celebrities to prime ministers, Peter Redman has photographed the names in the news for more than 30 years. As the first staff photographer ever employed by the Financial Post, Peter has met and photographed more CEOs than any other Canadian staff photographer.

Peter later became the first Photo Editor of the Post, setting up the darkroom, hiring a team, and supervising the best business news photography coverage in the country. Peter later helped the management team at the Post emerge from its weekly inertia to a hot daily property, moving the Post's visual team forward as they broke new ground each day, photographing the movers and shakers in the business world.

When the Financial Post was rolled into the larger brand of National Post in October 1998, Peter was asked first by the new management team to choose his direction - administrative work or taking pictures.
Peter jumped at the chance to do what he loves, and further broaden his business photography portfolio to include more news and event images.

Now Peter is bringing his special brand of portraiture, news and event photography to a new stage… his own. This most sought-after, senior staff photographer from National Post, is now booking his own assignments.
